Blue Kobyashevite on Calcite crystals with acicular Selenite needles, Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico. This is a rare copper sulfate mineral described and approved by the IMA in 2011 with the type locality in Vishnevye Mountains,Chelyabinsk, Oblast, Russia. Named after Russian mineralogist Yurri Stepanovich Kobyashev (1935-2009). This is a post mining redeposition overgrown with numerous clear selenite needles. The color is an amazing “Tiffany” blue.
