This specimen comes from one of the best pockets at the Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA. Named "The Gem Pocket" by local miners, this pocket produced some of the finest calcite specimens the world has seen. This is a true fine quality mineral specimen with amazing luster, clarity and form. The crystal is complete and perfect with no cleaving. There is a bit of matrix on the back, see the video. Comes with a old collection label of John and Colleen Beam. This is an outstanding translucent honey color gem calcite. 3.8 inch tall at 7.5 ounces.
